Law & Disorder w/ Cat Brooks

Safeguarding from Caste Discrimination in California w/ State Sen Aisha Wahab & Thenmozhi Soundararajan

A new bill could make California the first state to outlaw caste-based bias, a safeguard for people of South Asian descent, to build protection from discrimination in areas like housing and education. We’re joined by the sponsor of the bill, Aisha Wahab, the California state senator representing the 10th District, which runs from Hayward and Union City south to Sunnyvale and Santa Clara. We’re also joined by Thenmozhi Soundararajan, a Dalit rights activist who’s book The Trauma of Caste, exposes caste oppression in the South Asian subcontinent and the United States.
